Twenty-One Recipes to Add Christmas Spirit to Your Spirits

Are you planning on extending the holiday spirit to the beverages you serve at your party?   Instead of a bowl of punch, try mixing up some cocktails for your guests. Many of my posts this Christmas season can serve as inspiration boards, some with recipes and some with links to the recipes, to help you to kick start your imagination as you plan your parties.

While I was searching for cocktails to include, I was looking for fun Christmas names or colors to keep the spirit of Christmas in your spirits.

Santa's Hat

2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon water
3 tablespoons coconut flakes
3 oz. cranberry juice
1 oz. Cruzan® Coconut Rum
1/2 oz. grenadine (1 tablespoon)
Candy cane

Mix powdered sugar and water together on a small saucer or plate until smooth. Spread the coconut on another saucer. Dip the rim of a Martini glass in the sugar until the rim is coated. Then, dip the sugared rim into the coconut. Use a spoon to pack the coconut on to the sugar coating so it stays on the rim.

Add the cranberry juice, coconut rum, and grenadine into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into the coconut rimmed Martini glass and serve. Garnish with a candy cane. Break off the top hook of the candy cane if desired.

Christmas Spirit Cocktail

Pop a bottle of good-quality tequila in the freezer for an hour, along with a shot glass for each of your guests.

Cut your pomegranates in half and take their seeds out. The easy way to do this is to hold one half of a pomegranate, cut-side down, in your hand and bash the top of it with a spatula so the seeds come tumbling out – make sure you’ve got a bowl underneath to catch them all!

Fill your shot glasses with pomegranate seeds, pour in your iced tequila and depending on your style either sip it, or knock it back. Don't swallow until you've crunched the pomegranate seeds because they add a real burst of fragrance and flavour in your mouth.
