I Like Big Books and I Cannot Lie

I am blessed to live in a town with a beautiful library.

Image from 1913, the year of it's completion

Although there is now an addition on one side, it was originally designed to look like an open book.

It's beautiful inside and out.  Here are some of my own photos of our library.

What does this have to do with my post on book benches?  It's like this...

And these are some very big books.  Actually, they're benches.  I came across them while strolling through the interwebs looking for book related projects for the house and they were so awesome that I had to share them with you.

Surprisingly Serviceable Succulents

I have always loved succulent plants.  They require minimal care and seem to thrive on neglect.  What some people don't know is that they aren't just good for landscaping.

They are perfect for use in a vertical garden, in planters and for creating living art.  Although people may think of them as a desert plant, many varieties are cold hardy.  They come in a variety of colors, textures and sizes that allow you let your creativity flow.

Looking to incorporate succulents in your home or garden?  Here are some colorful ideas for you.
